Hometown: Yangzhou, China
Yishi grew up in Yangzhou, China. In 2017, he attended Virginia Tech and obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering. In 2021, he continued his study at Columbia University, where he developed an interest in the interdisciplinary field of energy and transportation systems research. In the fall of 2023, Yishi became a part of the S3 Group and is pursuing a Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering in USC. Outside the class, Yishi is passionate about cooking, skiing, and enjoys hiking in national parks.
Research Interests:
Yishi is interested in understanding the complex interactions between energy systems, social systems, and transportation systems in our cities. He is investigating how machine learning and artificial intelligence technologies can be utilized to help develop smart cities.
